The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, between November 30 and December 13, 2023. COP28 saw progress in a number of different areas, though significant issues on the climate agenda remain outstanding.
This year’s conference highlighted the urgent need to mitigate and adapt to climate change, operationalize the Climate Loss and Damage Fund created at COP27, the global challenge of implementing a fair energy transition and the ongoing uncertainty regarding the market mechanisms in the Paris Agreement,
