Five firms steer US$1.1 billion StoneCo-Linx merger
Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York and Brazilian law firms Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados and Spinelli Advogados have helped payment processor StoneCo merge one of its Brazilian units with local retail software company Linx, in a deal worth 6 billion reais (US$1.1 billion).

Evoltz Participações (anteriormente Seville transmission Asssesoria en Investimento) se convirtió en el único accionista de Manaus Transmissora de Energía. La compañía, que ya poseía 50,5 % de la empresa, compró el resto del 49,5 % de participación Centráis Elétricas Brasileiras (Eletrobrás) por 46,7 millones de dólares (232 millones de reales al 8 de junio).

Mattos Filho and Gaia Silva behind cancer treatment partnership in Brazil
Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados has helped private medical group Oncoclínicas do Brasil sell a minority stake in a radiotherapy subsidiary to healthcare company Unimed.
The buyer, including its subsidiaries, hired Gaia, Silva, Gaede & Associados Advocacia, for the deal, which closed on 31 March. No value was disclosed.
