Experience
André specializes in civil litigation and both domestic and international arbitration, focusing on corporate, commercial, and infrastructure disputes (including energy, oil and gas, construction, and regulatory matters). In 2013, he served on a Senate commission to reform Brazil’s Arbitration Law and draft its Mediation Law. André previously coordinated Pontifical Catholic University’s (PUC-Rio) postgraduate program in Commercial Arbitration and Consensual Dispute Resolution Methods (Arbitragem Comercial e Métodos Consensuais de Solução de Conflitos) and taught undergraduate law courses on arbitration, bankruptcy, and judicial restructuring. André has extensive experience in insolvency and debt recovery matters. He served as an officer of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr) from 2018 to 2021, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) from 2020 to 2024, and an associate at Baker Botts LLP in Washington, D.C., in 2006. André currently serves on the CBAr Board of Directors.
