Experience

With 20 years’ experience, Rafael is a specialist in real estate law and advises Brazilian and foreign companies on complex transactions in the sector, with particular emphasis on large-scale developments, shopping centers, hospitality, leisure and logistics projects, as well as built-to-suit arrangements, construction and infrastructure projects. His practice also encompasses structured real estate transactions and land regularization matters.

Over the past decade, Rafael has advised on structuring projects such as the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro, Cidade Matarazzo (Rosewood São Paulo), W São Paulo, JW Marriott São Paulo, and Palácio Tangará, as well as Faena São Paulo and Four Seasons Rio de Janeiro (both currently under construction). He also participated in designing and developing a legal framework to create a new tourist destination in the Preá region of Ceará in Brazil’s northeast, which has enabled the construction of the ‘Vila Carnaúba’ development.

Rafael previously served as director at the Brazilian Real Estate Law Institute (IBRADIM) between 2022 and 2024 and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association – Rio de Janeiro Chapter’s (OAB-RJ) Notarial Affairs Committee, the Global Real Estate and Infrastructure (GRI) Club, and the Brazilian Real Estate Market Lawyers’ Association.
