Guilherme started working at Mattos Filho in 2008 and has been a partner for more than six years. His practice includes advice to domestic and foreign companies, financial institutions, and investors for more than 20 years in corporate and M&A matters involving strategic transactions, private equity, public deals, joint ventures, divestitures, and corporate restructurings. He also worked as a visiting attorney in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

 

Throughout his career, Guilherme has built strong relationships with Private Equity players in Brazil like Carlyle, CVC and SPX, as well as served clients such as Alberta Investment Management Corporation, BR Properties, Braskem, Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board, CETIP, Copersucar, Daio Paper Corporation, Fresenius, Heinz, Henkel, Marubeni Corporation, Pátria, Qualicorp, Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), Vinci Capital and Vinci Concessions.

 

Guilherme’s recent transactions include:

 

Advising Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company on its capital contribution to BRF S.A. as an anchor investor for the total amount of R$ 1.6 billion (2023);

 

Advising Carlyle throughout its full investment cycle in Rede D’Or São Luiz, including original investment, IPO, follow-ons and divestitures (2015 – 2024);

 

Advising Vinci Highways on the acquisition of a majority stake in Entrevias, the concessionaire in charge of the operation, manteinance, and modernization of Rodovias do Centro-Oeste Paulista (2023);

 

Advising Bessemer Ventures Partners on the private sale of a 5.38% minority stake in Enjoei S.A., a company listed on B3, to funds managed by São Pedro Capital (2024).
